Top Tips for Cleaning Finger Oil Stains from Your Mobile Phone Case
Did you know your cell phone is ten times dirtier than a toilet seat?
So, could your mobile phone case be any cleaner?
Your phone case protects your mobile phone and touches all types of surfaces such as restaurant tables, bathroom counters, and sometimes even the ground.
It picks up dirt and germs from these surfaces and transfers them to your face and hands. Like you wash your hands to clean them, isn't it time you clean your mobile phone case too?
How to get greasy stains off your phone case?
Most people have the habit of watching videos or browsing their mobile phones while eating. The grease from the food could easily stain your mobile phone case. So, how can you get rid of finger oil stains?
Use warm water and dish soap.
Before you attempt to clean your phone case, make sure you take your phone out. You will need a few drops of some grease-fighting dish soap and some warm water. For phone cases made of plastic, rubber, or silicone, dish soap works well. However, don't use this method for wood or leather phone cases.
Mix one drop of dish soap in warm water. Dip a soft-bristled toothbrush, sponge, or cloth and scrub your phone case. Scrub both the front and back in gentle, circular motions to get rid of dirt and grease. Avoid rubbing vigorously, or you may damage the paint or design on your phone case. Once done, rinse your phone case and then wipe it dry with a soft cloth. Cloths meant to clean eyeglasses or electronic screens work the best. Do not insert your phone until your phone case is completely dry.
What to do for leather and wood phone cases?
Ideally, you should use a small amount of leather cleaner to clean your leather phone case. If you don't have leather cleaner, you can use a damp microfiber cloth to clean your case. Do not use a lot of water as leather is porous.
For wood phone cases, do not use water or soap at all. Use a microfiber cloth instead to dust your phone case. However, if you have greasy stains on your phone case, you can dip a microfiber cloth in a few drops of vinegar to clean it. Wood is also very porous, so ensure that you dry your phone case thoroughly after cleaning.
